We are proud of our world-class faculty, groundbreaking research and international reputation for excellence in sustainability, community engagement and innovation.Position SummaryThe (USP) Program Coordinator is responsible for planning, coordinating, and facilitating academic program initiatives, and managing program resources. This position is key to implementing program activities regarding recruitment, enrollment, retention, and student success initiatives for all USP degree programs, including undergraduate majors and minors, graduate degrees and certificates. The position works collaboratively with faculty program directors, the USP chair, and staff. In addition, this position will have joint responsibility for coordinating and overseeing graduate student recruitment efforts.This is a 1.0 FTE, 12-month position reporting directly to the USP Chair and working closely with faculty program directors and other staff within the Urban Studies and Planning Department. An employee in this position is expected to be on campus for a minimum of four days per week.In accordance with the this position is open only to current PSU AAUP academic professionals. Article 17 Section 11 refers.Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree and 2 to 4 years related experience OR Master's degree and 1-year related experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Google Applications.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality required for work with student and faculty records.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills; demonstrated ability to successfully multitask and prioritize work around deadlines and maintain attention to detail and attention to the quality of work.
- Demonstrated professionalism and ability to successfully interact with individuals from diverse backgrounds
- Experience working in higher education, especially in roles related to academic program support, graduate student support, or student recruitment.
- Working knowledge of Banner, Slate, and Cognos.
- Create an environment that acknowledges, encourages, and celebrates differences.
- Function and communicate effectively and respectfully within the context of varying beliefs, behaviors, orientations, identities, and cultural backgrounds.

Work Days/Hours Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week, schedule to be determined.
Total Compensation Range & Benefits StatementSalary is dependent on several factors, and new employees will typically start around the Q1 level to allow for later growth within the salary band.
