CVICU Travel Nurse Job Details
- Estimated Weekly Pay: $2100$2250
- Assignment Length: 11 weeks
- Start Date: September 22, 2025
- Location: Wausau, Wisconsin (54401) Wisconsin nursing jobs
- Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
- Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM 7:30 AM)
- Hours per Week: 36 guaranteed
- Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every 2-3 weekends (Friday/Saturday/Sunday), every other holiday
- Charting System: EPIC preferred
- Scrub Colors: Any color
- Active Wisconsin RN License (required for all Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
- BLS and ACLS certifications (required for CVICU nursing jobs)
- CCRN certification preferred
- Associate Degree or Nursing Certificate required; BSN preferred
- Minimum 2 years of recent cardiac nursing experience in a critical care setting
- Proficiency with Swans, IABP's, and post-op heart care
- Experience with cardioversions, line placements, and patient discharges in a CVICU or ICU
- Ability to float to critical care and acute care clusters as needed
- Strong independent work ethic, time management, and adaptability
- Deliver expert nursing care to patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, including post-op hearts, AMI, cardiogenic shock, and induced hypothermia
- Manage patient ratios: 2:1 for CRRT, 1:1 for Impella devices
- Perform and assist with cardioversions, line placements, and patient discharges
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
- Float to other critical care and acute care units as needed
- Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records
- Demonstrate resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced clinical environment
