Our experts provide deep understanding of industries, markets, and regulatory policy, and frequently develop and present expert testimony in litigation regarding pricing, service, and other contractual or regulatory issues. In addition to litigation, we support investment decisions, public reporting, asset rationalization, and other business planning. We have extensive industry expertise with Railroads, Pipelines, Electric Power and Transmission.What You'll DoA Senior Consultant is responsible for managing, processing, and analyzing information to develop solutions for external clients. In addition, the candidate will assist team leaders by providing analytic support and drafting for advisory services across a wide range of industries. In addition, the position requires the development of written reports explaining the procedures employed. An individual that succeeds in the position will be able to work independently and to take initiative in solving problems that are faced on a day-to-day basis, continually striving to ensure quality output that can withstand the scrutiny of regulators and 3rd party auditors.The ideal candidate will have:Strong analytic and quantitative skills, including economic modeling and/or greenhouse gas accounting experience.Demonstrated ability to work with large and complex datasets, and to build reproducible, well-documented analysis.Ability to write memoranda to describe the procedures employed to complete tasks and to summarize the results of research or analysis.Solid communication skills (written and verbal) including the ability to concisely explain complicated concepts to clients and staff within and outside of the firm.Ability to support and direct communication with clients and staff members on engagements, while updating senior team members on progress and issuesCommitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients across functions.A positive, professional, and solutions-oriented attitudeResilience and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.Outstanding problem-solving and analytic skillsStrong business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit, including the ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities.How You'll GrowWe are committed to investing and supporting you in your professional development and we have developed a range of programs focused on fostering leadership, growth and development opportunities. As you progress through your career at FTI Consulting, we offer tailored programs for critical professional milestones to ensure you are prepared and empowered to take on your next role.What You Will Need to SucceedBasic QualificationsBachelor's Degree in in Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related quantitative field3+ years of relevant full-time work experience with quantitative analysis of energy systems and/or environmental impact (e.g., GHG emissions accounting, climate scenario analysis, energy system forecasting models, and large dataset processing (e.g., cleaning, manipulation, and analysis))Familiarity with Scope 1, 2, and 3 Emissions accounting and reportingExperience supporting ESG program development and environmental reportingExperience analyzing 10-k documents, earnings reports, investor presentations and other public company financial data.Ability to learn new concepts quickly and possess a service-oriented attitude.Analysis of environmental data using database and spreadsheet applications (including Microsoft Excel)Project management experience that includes interacting with and presenting to senior-level team members and clientsTravel to FTI offices and client(s)Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in economics, Statistics, Engineering, Environmental Science or a related business fieldTechnical writing skills (e.g., footnotes and citations, formatting tables and figures)Experience in quantifying physical and market risks into financial impacts for clients under different market scenarios.Proficiency with ESG Reporting and GHG Quantification software.Demonstrated ability to manage and delegate data processing and quantitative analysis tasks effectively to ensure timely progress across multiple workstreams.#LI-HYBRID#LI-AF3Total WellbeingOur goal is to support the wellbeing of you and your families-physically, emotionally, and financially.
