Job Description:A successful Splicing Manager shall supervise employees in the preparation, splicing, and enclosing of fiber optic and coaxial telecommunications plant. At a minimum, the position requires a good working knowledge of telecommunications network structure; familiarity with fiber optic and coaxial cable, splice enclosures and the functionality of each; ability to use TDR/OTDR and fusion splicing equipment; ability to read fiber matrices; ability to interpret and analyze data; and, ability to identify and troubleshoot problems.In order to perform this job, you must demonstrate, either by training or experience:
  • the ability to work safely, with or without supervision; excellent manual dexterity
  • the ability to coordinate the activities of others
  • the ability to read understand, interpret, input, and analyze data with a high degree of accuracy and completeness
  • the ability to understand and operate technical equipment, including but not limited to OTDR and fusion splicing equipment
  • the ability to lift and manipulate splice enclosures and other plant and equipment
  • the ability to work standing or seated at a work table, at shoulder height and overhead, for short periods
Responsibilities:
  • Supervise, develop, and provide leadership to employees of an assigned area, department, or project
  • Review tasks and reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
  • Implement and maintain processes to assist completion of tasks in support of an assigned area, department, or project
  • Communicate with employees, contractors, vendors, and/or customers to assist an assigned area, department, or project
As required by Colorado regulation, the pay range for this position if performed in Colorado is $80,000 - $95,000 annuallyIND1Qualifications:
  • Associates Degree in a related field or 3 years of related work experience
  • Previous supervisory and/or managerial experience
  • Project management skills including planning, organizing, and coordinating tasks
  • Authorized to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen, background, and motor vehicle record check
