- Conduct individual and group fitness assessments to determine the fitness levels and goals of residents.
- Design and implement customized fitness programs that cater to residents’ goals, fitness levels, and health conditions.
- Provide one-on-one or group personal training sessions, demonstrating proper form and technique for exercises.
- Educate residents on the safe use of fitness equipment and ensure proper maintenance of gym equipment.
- Motivate and encourage residents to maintain a consistent exercise routine.
- Maintain accurate client records, tracking progress and adjusting programs as necessary to meet fitness goals.
- Monitor residents during exercises to reduce the risk of injury and ensure they are executing the prescribed workouts correctly.
- Organize and lead group fitness classes or community wellness programs, engaging a broad range of residents.
- Adhere to all community guidelines and safety protocols, ensuring a positive and respectful environment for all participants.
- Stay up-to-date on fitness trends and certifications to deliver the most current techniques and advice.

- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Current certification from a nationally recognized fitness organization (e.g., NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA).
- Minimum of 1 year of experience as a personal trainer, ideally in a community, fitness center, or private gym setting.
- Experience working with clients of various fitness levels and physical abilities, including older adults.
- Strong understanding of fitness principles, including anatomy, nutrition, exercise science, and injury prevention.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire residents.
- Ability to assess fitness levels and design customized training programs based on individual needs.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in maintaining client records and tracking progress.
- Ability to adapt programs for individuals with different abilities and fitness goals.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and create a positive, inclusive environment.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency with scheduling software and fitness tracking apps.
- Able to work under pressure, maintain composure, and utilize good judgment during emergency/difficult and stressful situations.
- Ability to stand, walk, and demonstrate exercises for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to lift and move fitness equipment as needed (up to 50 lbs).
- Ability to demonstrate exercises and perform workouts as part of group sessions.
- Visual and auditory ability to ensure participant safety during workouts and classes.
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends based on resident demand.
