- Conducts multi-media inspections at auto salvage facilities.
- Conducts compliance and complaint inspections at other businesses and facilities throughout the State, including: tire sites, restricted waste landfills; Coal Combustion Residual (CCR) sites, and associated industrial waste facility, industrial waste solidification processors, and at other sites identified as section inspection initiatives.
- Conducts multi-media screenings and analyzes pollution prevention opportunities.
- Provides technical and regulatory assistance on solid and hazardous waste.
- Prepares accurate and detailed inspection reports and an apppropriate enforcement response or referral.
- At least two (2) years of experience in an environmental or environmental public health field
- A minimum of a baccalaureate degree in environmental science, environmental policy or a related area;
- knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of industrial waste and ability to apply these principles as they relate to any program;
- knowledge of the physical sciences as they relate to industrial waste;
- ability to think critically and in an analytical manner;
- ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing;
- ability to work well independently and in a goup;
- dependability;
- ability to effectively interact with local, state, and federal groups and government representatives;
- ability to establish and maintaian effective working relationships with staff and deal tactfully with a variety of individuals including members of the public, members of the regulated community, and representatives from city, state, and federal governments;
- Inspection experience
- ability to interpret rules/regulations as they relate to industrial waste and related programs;
