The Spring is hiring a full time Lead Guest Advocate for Monday thru Friday from 3pm-11pmThe Spring is a faith-based service provider, shelter, and advocacy organization for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking, and human trafficking. We offer a safe home and supportive services that assist survivors and their children on their journey out of abuse.The Lead Guest Advocate serves as the shift lead in the day-to-day operations of The Spring's Emergency Crisis Shelter, assisting the Guest Advocates and Shelter Support Advocates to ensure smooth operations and consistent guest support.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Serve as shift lead; providing guidance, direction, and problem-solving assistance to ensure smooth operations and consistent guest support; fill in to support the team as a Guest Advocate or Shelter Support Advocate as needed
  • Serve as a primary point of contact for training new hires of direct shelter staff
  • Support team development by training and ensuring implementation of practices or processes designed to enhance the quality of services for guests within the program
  • Carry assigned caseload of program guest(s) as needed to provide advocacy, case management, safety planning, coordination of services, and referrals
  • Complete new guest intake process within 72 hours of them being at The Spring in compliance with OAG standards and guidelines, helping to acclimate them to The Spring, and assigning new guests their ongoing guest advocate
  • Provide advocacy for all guests within the program by connecting them with on-site and external resources and be available to meet immediate needs.
  • Complete discharges according to policy and procedures
  • Be available for emergencies and respond accordingly
  • Lead groups or activities each week at The Spring
  • Assist in the after-hours on call rotation for one week at a time, 24 hours each day; provide shift coverage if needed.
  • Attend training as needed to meet domestic violence, sexual assault, and human sex trafficking standards
  • Work an occasional night and weekend shift as required
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or 3 years of related experience required
  • One year experience in social services preferred
  • Must be able to sign The Spring's Statement of Faith
  • Must have valid driver's license

  • Able to successfully handle multiple demands and perform effectively despite changing priorities
  • Willing and able to develop relationships with guests and their children within professional boundaries
  • Commitment to maintaining client confidentiality and ethical standards
  • Willing and able to work both independently and as a team member
  • Computer experience required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Maintain boundaries, both professional and personal
