GEL’s core purpose is to improve the quality of life of this and future generations by helping people protect and be good stewards of our environment and natural resources.Summary:This temporary position directly supports the Project Managers (PMs) within the Client Services Division and involves regular interaction with both GEL’s clients and the laboratory. The project management group consists of small teams of project managers and assistants who work together to ensure their clients’ analytical needs are met. This role is being offered as a temporary position for approximately six months. It will begin with dedicated training, followed by serving in a fully active capacity to support the team during a planned leave. The ideal team member delivers superb customer service while seamlessly executing all administrative tasks.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:-Demonstrates and supports GEL’s core values-Responds promptly to external customers via telephone or email-Confers with laboratory analysts or leadership to obtain additional information needed to resolve customer questions-Performs data entry to correctly assign samples to laboratory worklists-Summarizes sample receipt issues and provides sample receipt acknowledgements to clients-Assists in preparation of reports and narratives as required-Assists in subcontracting samples to other laboratories-Performs other Project Manager support duties as assigned-Conducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerTypical Education and Experience Required:-Associate’s degree (with course work in chemistry preferred) or equivalent experience-Excellent computer/clerical skills-Exhibits organizational skills and attention to detail-Strong analytical, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills-Ability to follow written and verbal instructions-Provides excellent customer service as displayed by clear written and verbal communication-Basic math and science knowledge-Proficient computer skills, including but not limited to, WORD, EXCEL and other standard operating programs/systemsWhat We Offer:

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:The physical demands outlined are representative of those required for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job:
Mobility to work in a lab and office setting
Use of standard office and lab equipment and stamina to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects
