
Application Architect

- Lead and/or participate in the design, development, and implementation of complex system engineering activities involving cross-functional technical support, systems programming and data center capabilities
- Responsible for components of highly complex engineering and/or analytical tasks and activities
- Establish input/output processes and working parameters for hardware/software compatibility, coordination of subsystems design, and integration of total system
- Viewed as a technology subject matter expert; able to provide and communicate complex technology solutions across differing audiences including technical, managerial, business executives, and/or vendors
- Responsible for multiple, complex projects; will direct activities of teams related to special initiatives or operations and may have direct reports
- Lead the resolution process for complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors
- Exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for obtaining results
- Responsible for the design of the infrastructure systems for a portfolio of applications by matching current technology blueprints and standards with the business and application requirements
- Define and document the hardware, software, infrastructure components, modules, interfaces, scalability, and high availability solutions to meet specified application, business, and company requirements
- Identify solutions and alternatives for keeping current and optimizing computer resources
- Investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions required for design and support of various types of enterprise applications
- Collect information to analyze and evaluate existing or proposed systems
- Work as a team member with other technical staff, such as networking to ensure connectivity and compatibility between systems
- Write and maintain system design drawings and system specific detailed documentation
- 3rd level support for major incident troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution for a portfolio of applications
- Support issues with deployments in the upstream and downstream environments
- Information Technology degree and/or technology certifications preferred or substantial equivalent experience
- 7-10 years of enterprise IT experience
- 5+ years infrastructure related experience with very strong knowledge of enterprise infrastructure and application integration
- 2+ years Enterprise level design experience
- Strong working knowledge of Networking, Windows/Linux OS, Middleware, DMZ/Firewall, Local and Global load balancing expertise as it relates to midrange systems application integration and design
- Strong knowledge on Middleware technologies (IIS, WebSphere, WebLogic, Tomcat)
- Strong knowledge on CICD tools
