- This individual will have the following responsibilities, including but not limited to the following:
- Culture of mammalian cells;
- Basic molecular biology studies such as DNA/RNA extraction, PCR, RT-PCR, plasmid preparation, gene overexpression, gene knockout, and protein analysis;
- Cellular biology studies such as cell growth, cell death, cell cycles, and immunofluorescent staining;
- Metabolic studies such as measuring cellular respiration, metabolites and enzymes;
- Omics studies such as single-cell transcriptomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics;
- Animal work including genotyping, colony maintenance and tumorigenesis studies; and regular lab maintenance.
- The technician will receive detailed instruction and guidance from Ph.D. fellows (post-doc and research associate).
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
- A combination of education and related technical/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for the bachelor’s degree on a year for year basis

- One (1) year professional level research experience
- Bachelor’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field

- Two (2) years professional level research experience
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
- One (1) year of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
- Two (2) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
- Master’s degree in biology, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics or related field
- Three (3) years of experience in an experimental or wet laboratory
- Prior successful work or experience
- Ability to learn new experimental techniques
- Experience in working with small animal models
- Ability to learn new software programs
- Experience in bioinformatics tools to analyze omics data
- Experience using cell biology, pharmacology and/or immunology techniques
- Advanced knowledge of laboratory techniques including safety procedures and techniques
- Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Demonstrated commitment and leadership ability to advance diversity and inclusion
- Knowledge of basic human anatomy, physiology medical terminology
- Ability to interpret and master complex research protocol information
- Able to work in a team setting
- Strong and reliable organizational skills
