2nd shift hours are Monday-Thursday 3:30pm-2amThe Machine Operator will have the opportunity to flex between working with both a laser and a brake press machine. This position is responsible for bending/fabricating parts according to specifications, and plays a critical role in ensuring that our parts are created in both an efficient and timely manner.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:·High school diploma or GED·One year experience with programming, setup, and operation of a production laser and/or brake press (or machine operation equivalent)·One year experience working in a manufacturing environmentPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:·Forklift certifiedESSENTIAL DUTIES:·Follow production schedule to appropriately program the laser to produce adequate product to fulfill production needs in a timely manner·Setup and operate high speed laser cutting machine by loading and unloading materials as required.·Setup and nest programs.· Movement of raw material – including the potential to drive a fork lift.·Check and inspect raw material to ensure conformance to specifications.·Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas.·Material movement to and from machine.·Install and secure punches and dies.·Adjust ram stroke and back gauging to properly form parts.·Inspect parts using measuring tools as appropriate.·Confirm that all safety procedures and practices are followed and fill out time study forms nightlyKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:·Good computer skills·Ability to read blueprints and use precision measuring instruments.·Good verbal and written communication skills with fluency in English
