If you're looking to make a difference through teamwork and service in a mission-driven organization, we want to hear from you!PurposeAs the Dues Accounting Specialist, you’ll be a key contributor to our membership operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of dues, supporting affiliate and member relationships, and maintaining data integrity in alignment with AOA Bylaws.Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for AOA members and affiliate organizations regarding membership dues.
  • Process membership status changes, investigate discrepancies, and maintain accurate correspondence records.
  • Coordinates and assists colleagues with reoccurring membership processes, including renewals, new graduate transitions, and delinquency notifications.
  • Reconcile and process dues payments, research and resolve related issues, and distribute required reports.
  • Generate various monthly, quarterly, and annual membership and financial reports for affiliates and internal stakeholders.
  • Coordinates credentialing activities, including finalizing delegate and vote counts for the House of Delegates.
  • Maintain internal documentation, including the Dues Accounting Procedure Manual and membership forms.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 2+ years accounting or bookkeeping experience required. Accounts receivable experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred.
  • Membership experience a plus.
  • Proficient in Adobe and Microsoft Office (especially Outlook and Excel).
  • Experience with Personify or AMS is a plus.
  • Exceptional communication skills (both verbal and written), with the ability to build relationships and work collaboratively with a wide range of internal and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Balances efficiency and accuracy to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards of detail and data integrity in alignment with AOA Bylaws.
  • Committed to the AOA mission and creating positive membership experiences.
  • Effective problem solver using a combination of analysis, sound judgement and teamwork to find solutions.
