Abernethy Contracting is seeking a Fine Grade Equipment Operator. In this role, Operators may operate equipment, including but not limited to, a skid steer and smooth drum roller.RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work alongside motor grader to fine grade soil and stone sub-base, shovel, check grade and wet stone.
  • Safe and efficient operation of equipment to meet production targets.
  • Comply with all company and site-specific policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine inspections, safety walk-arounds, and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Maintain equipment in good operating condition and reporting of maintenance requirements.
  • May perform other job site duties as required based on job site needs.
  • Respect and follow leadership and directions from assigned foreman.
  • Treat co-workers, subcontractors and customers with respect and professionalism.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Previous experience operating heavy construction equipment preferred.
  • Sense of urgency and ability to respond to changing situations.
  • Ability to adapt, prioritize and complete projects in a changing construction environment.
  • Commitment to safe work practices.
  • Ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Have the ability to travel within 60-75 miles of greater Charlotte Metro Area.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background screening.
