- Hours: Monday-Friday, 8AM-4:30PM, onsite
- Contribute to and direct scholarly efforts toward supporting the goals of research within Investigational Innovation, which is the research arm of the innovation team at Endeavor Health.
- Independent Research & Publication: Lead and execute independent research projects in Investigational Innovation, which includes areas within AI, digital health and other innovative solutions in medical and data-driven technologies, aiming to produce 4-6 high-quality peer-reviewed publications annually with the support of a larger team inclusive of investigational innovation, innovation, informatics and data analytics teams. This includes experimental design, data analysis, interpretation of results, and manuscript preparation.
- Strategic Leadership: Collaborate with the PI to develop and refine the team's research strategy, identifying novel research avenues and key areas for investigation within AI, digital health, and quality improvement domains.
- Research & Manuscript Opportunity Identification: Proactively identify and prioritize research and manuscript opportunities, ensuring alignment with team goals and broader organizational objectives.
- Grant Funding & External Collaboration: Actively seek and pursue external grant funding opportunities to support ongoing and future research initiatives. Develop and foster collaborations with external partners in academia and industry.
- Conference Presentations: Prepare and deliver compelling presentations of research findings at national conferences, enhancing the visibility and impact of our work.
- Mentorship & Team Support: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing research environment. Strong stakeholder communication and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills are essential given the implementation-focused nature of this role.
- Methodology & Quality: Contribute to the development and implementation of applied methodologies for robust AI, digital health, and quality assurance processes within research projects. This may include piloting new technologies in clinical settings and supporting change management.
- Innovation & Problem Solving: Apply advanced AI techniques to solve complex scientific challenges, demonstrating creativity and a strong problem-solving aptitude.
- Manages grants and projects on which he/she serves as Principal Investigator, including overseeing and directly supervising research personnel as needed.
- Designs and performs complex research methods as appropriate for specific research endeavors.
- Education: PhD or MD required. Applicants from disciplines such as public health, implementation science, psychology, health services research, or behavioral medicine are encouraged to apply.
- Certification: Has held a faculty appointment at the (research) Assistant Professor level for a minimum of 3 years, or currently holds an Associate Professor rank. Preferred, but not required.
- Experience: At least 1-2 years of postdoctoral experience; has applied for independent research funding as Principal Investigator
- Skills: Contributes to 4-6 peer-reviewed publications per year. Contributes as a primary author or senior author on some publications. Expected to serve as research scientist for Investigational Innovation providing research development consultation and mentorship for others on the investigational innovation team; contributing to research education programs internally; facilitating dissemination of research findings; and providing scientific peer review for internal or external research grant applications.
- Demonstrated familiarity with various AI methodologies, such as machine learning (deep learning, reinforcement learning), large language models, agentic AI, natural language processing, computer vision, or predictive analytics. While deep technical expertise is not required, experience collaborating on AI implementation efforts is important, particularly in applied or clinical contexts.
