Shift/Schedule: Full Time (Salaried)GENERAL SUMMARYWorks under the supervision of the Adm. Director of Medical Imaging. The Manager of Support Services’ primary job function is to supervise the daily operations of the medical imaging support team and to perform general administrative support duties for the department. Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation:
  • High School Diploma or successful completion of an equivalent High School Exam required
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience in related field required
Licensure:
  • BLS within 90 days of hire required
Experience:
  • One year of clerical experience preferred
  • Basic medical technology and computer skills required
JOB SPECIFIC DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSThe following is a summary of the major job duties of this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.1. Assists the Director with hiring, evaluating, counseling and disciplining, when necessary, the Radiology Support team.2. Manages and schedules the Ancillary Support Clerks and conducts monthly meetings for staff.3. Responsible for orientation, training and on-going in-services for Ancillary Support Clerks.4. Compiles and maintains data, and provides analysis of data in the form of graphs, charts, etc.5. Coordinates and provides administrative support to the Adm. Director of Medical Imaging and the Radiologists by preparing technical and non-technical reports, composing correspondence and committee minutes, handling confidential, and sensitive material.6. Maintains a cooperative working relationship with the medical staff and other hospital staff in order to coordinate Medical Imaging functions.7. Responsible for the Medical Imaging Procurement card reconciliation8. Maintains the SOMC Radiation Badge program.9. Types, proofs, and edits department correspondence (i.e. memos, letters, minutes, etc.). Correspondence is frequently confidential.11. Opens, screens, prioritizes, and distributes incoming mail.12. Answers, screens, and refers incoming calls and visitors and responds to general inquiries with proper documentation.13. Oversees ordering/stocking of department office supplies.14. Prepares various reports as required (i.e. weekly, monthly or quarterly).15. Develops, implement, and maintains record keeping and filing system, handles significant volumes of confidential information including physician contracts, continuing medical education, credential files, malpractice information and modality specific files.16. Arranges meetings and conferences, completes travel arrangements for the Medical Imaging Departments. Completes and submits expense reports for reimbursement for all Medical Imaging employees.17.
