We are currently hiring a Planner/GIS Intern(s) in our Civil division in the Latham office. This internship will run from late May through end the end of summer (Labor Day). Our schedule is flexible and we may hire more than one individual.LaBella Associates is conducting an inventory of pedestrian infrastructure in several Capital District communities with a particular focus on sidewalks, curb ramps, pedestrian crossings and transit stops. This work is being performed in support of development of an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan.The intern will assist with data collection utilizing a mobile phone or tablet and ESRI Collector/Survey 123, which will be provided for the duration of employment. The individual will be trained in the evaluation and scoring of the pedestrian facilities and work as a part of a team performing data collection. The project utilizes a simple custom application facilitating data collection.The candidate will work independently in the field performing data collection and report in periodically to their supervisor. Candidates must have transportation in order to report to remote work sitesRequirements

Planning/GIS/Engineering Bachelor candidate- preferably a 3rd year student or above.
Ability to read and interpret a map
Interpret federal design guidelines and policies
Have familiarity with pedestrian environments
Have experience using an iOS-based phone or tablet
Ability to work outside for extended periods of time
Ability to walk/travel on pedestrian facilities for up to 5 miles per day.

Salary Range: $17-$20/hr.
The specific salary offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including but not limited to the candidate's relevant experience, education, and work location.
