
Library Paraprofessional - [0.6 FTE Part-Time] [Carter School] (SY25-26)

- Provides general assistance to students and staff.
- Sorts and shelves books.
- Maintains shelves and files.
- Inventories all materials.
- Maintains and repairs books and printed materials.
- Plans library literacy lessons to implement for daily schedule of classes, appropriate to each grade level.
- Inspects new materials and conserves materials.
- Orders books in consultation with staff and Principal
- Coordinates and produces monthly school-wide newsletter in coordination with computer specialist.
- Monitor and maintain instructional materials in Book Room.
- Coordinates use of laminating machine in coordination with other assigned teacher.
- Visit local library once a year with designated classes.
- Work with teachers to support curriculum units of study at each grade level.
- Maintain a positive climate conducive to learning.
- Assumes other related responsibilities as requested by the Principal.
- Education: High School Diploma or GED
- Forty-eight (48) Credit Hours of College Coursework or an Associate's Degree, or a passing score on one of the two following Formalized Standardized Assessments: ParaPro Assessment (
- Minimum of two years experience working with young children
- Current authorization to work in the United States - Candidates must have such authorization by their first day of employment
- Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Library Science/Communications or related area.
