Feed Commodity Merchandiser Essential Responsibilities:The Feed Commodity Merchandiser is a commodity trading position located in Cottage Grove, WI. This position will collaborate across business units and job functions within the cooperative. The role will focus on procurement and margin management of direct ship feed ingredients and bulk shipments of feed products. The role will require being a subject matter expert in price and market dynamics of feed products. The successful candidate will work with brokers, buying groups, commercial and producer accounts along with internal sales, accounting, operations, logistics, and traders to maximize financial opportunity for the cooperative.
Proactively strategize and execute procurement efforts to create a competitive advantage within the marketplace
Communicate price and opportunity to customers and sales staff
Document and communicate markets, price and contracts to accounting for proper records
Contract execution and management for both futures hedging and cash contract
Develop and maintain an extensive and varied business relationship network
Facilitate and schedule logistics for timely product delivery using rail and truck transportation modes
Comply with all company policies and procedures
Ensure the business unit operates within ALCIVIA assigned risk limits
Support ALCIVIA Leadership in business development and change management
