Schedule: Monday – Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM - Overtime may be required based on workload and seasonality.Position OverviewWe are seeking a hands-on, customer-focused Field Service Material Handler to join our growing Minooka team. In this hybrid role, your primary focus will be providing on-site field service and dealer support, traveling locally to inspect, maintain, and support hardscape displays and products. When not on-site with customers, you’ll support daily depot operations through forklift and material handling duties.This is a unique opportunity for someone who enjoys physical work, takes pride in craftsmanship, and thrives in both independent and team settings.Key ResponsibilitiesField Service & Dealer Support (Primary Responsibility)Assigned following full training in forklift operations and depot procedures.
- Travel to dealer and customer locations to:
- Conduct inspections and perform hands-on repairs or cleaning of product displays.
- Install or update signage, marketing materials, and product labeling.
- Support seasonal refreshes of showroom or outdoor hardscape setups.
- Respond to customer inquiries and provide technical support.
- Serve as the local liaison for dealer display needs, quality concerns, and field service requests.
- Represent the Techo-Bloc brand through excellent communication and professionalism on-site.
- Distribute promotional materials including brochures, samples, and catalogs.
- Operate a sit-down forklift to load/unload trucks and move materials.
- Stage orders, prep pallets, and maintain a clean, organized yard.
- Conduct physical product inspections to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Assist in resolving equipment or inventory issues with the Yard Supervisor.
- Perform general depot upkeep, including light maintenance and equipment checks.
- Local travel is required during regular work hours; overnight stays may occur about 20% of the time after training.
- A company vehicle or mileage reimbursement is provided for field assignments.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (required for travel).
- 1+ year of forklift experience (sit-down style preferred).
- Ability to lift 55 lbs. solo and 100 lbs. with team lift.
- Mechanically inclined and able to perform repairs and cleaning tasks.
- Reliable and flexible, with strong communication and time management skills.
- Comfortable using a tablet or smartphone for reporting and updates.
- Experience in hardscape, landscaping, or construction environments.
- Familiarity with concrete saws, hand tools, and power equipment.
- Background in customer service, dealer support, or field technician work.
- Knowledge of trailer loading and equipment transport procedures.
- Frequent movement, lifting, bending, and use of hand tools.
- Indoor and outdoor work environments in varied weather conditions.
- Occasional work in tight spaces or on uneven terrain.
