Reporting into the Director of Operations, my client is looking for an Operations Manager to join their team and oversee 6-8 direct reports. This position will be on-site 5 days a week, working in an ISO 13485 regulated environment, hands-on with the manufacturing team.The Operations Manager's responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspire and empower the manufacturing team, cultivating a culture centered on accountability, collaboration, and continuous enhancement.
  • Engage with planning, production supervisors, and engineering to oversee day-to-day production activities.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams and engineering to implement and uphold process controls and quality standards, ensuring products meet or surpass customer expectations.
  • Spearhead initiatives and strategies to expand manufacturing operations in alignment with future growth objectives.
  • Provide guidance, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for staff and production associates, including facilitating the onboarding process for new hires.
  • Develop a Lean manufacturing strategy, lead daily standup meetings, and conduct Gemba walks to drive operational excellence.
  • Identify opportunities for process enhancement and devise strategies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and HR to address new hire requirements and team training needs.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Business Administration required, with preference given to candidates holding advanced degrees such as Master's in Engineering and/or MBA.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience managing teams, with a preference for experience in the medical device sector.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in applying Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and understanding ISO 13485 system requirements, including familiarity with equipment qualification tools such as IQ, OQ, and PQ.
  • Customer-centric mindset, strong commitment to quality, and adept at making risk-based decisions effectively.
  • Skilled in navigating complex scenarios, providing clear direction to teams, and experienced in driving continuous improvement initiatives and strategies.
  • Possesses practical knowledge of Lean Principles and Six Sigma Methodology, with Lean and Six Sigma certifications considered advantageous.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in financial and business acumen, capable of managing expenses and budgets effectively.
