However, candidates with at least 6 months of previous lab assistant experience are preferred. Training will be provided on-site.Physical Demands: This role requires dexterity in fingers and hands, as well as the ability to stand, sit, handle, lift, push, and pull. Applicants must be able to lift objects weighing up to 30 lbs.Working Conditions: The job entails regular exposure to potential blood-borne pathogens. Lab Assistants will operate in high-volume, production-based environments, playing a crucial role in clinical lab science.Requirements:- High school diploma or equivalent.- Previous medical/lab or production experience preferred.- Comfortability with handling biological specimens.- Accurate identification of specimens.- Basic computer proficiency and data entry skills.- Strong attention to detail, prioritization, and multitasking abilities.- Capability to work efficiently in a fast-paced production setting and meet deadlines.- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.- Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.- Successful completion of a standardized color blindness test.- Flexibility to work overtime as required.Position Summary: Responsible for specimen management tasks, including receiving, loading/unloading automation, and storage.Essential Job Duties:- Assist in loading/unloading specimens on Hamilton pipetting instruments.- Receive and sort clinical lab specimens.- Sort specimens for manual pipetting.- Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.- Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information.- Ensure proper functioning of lab equipment and perform minor maintenance.- Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.- Replenish test bench supplies.- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.- Adhere to standard operating procedures and safety regulations.- Document quality assurance activities for regulatory compliance.- Perform other duties as assigned by department management.Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent.
