- Manages nursing practice and care delivery in designated unit/practice area.

- Maintains position control in a cost-effective manner. Interviews and hires potential employees, assuring the technical and professional development of staff.
- Coaches, disciplines and evaluates staff according to ChristianaCare policy. Maintains accurate employee files, including licensure of professional staff.
- Plans, holds and documents monthly staff meetings, communicating all appropriate information.
- Maintains confidentiality of patient and staff information.
- Responsible for the development and maintenance of the unit/practice area budget in collaboration with the Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer for the Newark campus of ChristianaCare.
- Facilitates cooperative and collaborative relationships among departments to ensure effective value and quality patient care delivery.
- Demonstrates and promotes positive interpersonal communication skills all the time.
- Maintains a cooperative and collaborative working relationship with the unit/practice area-based Medical Director.
- Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.
- Performs other related duties as required.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing Completed BSN and Master’s degree or alternatively, a Bachelor’s degree and Master of Science in Nursing Professional certification in a related nursing specialty required;
- Nurse Executive certification preferred Five years of appropriate clinical and leadership experience; six months of dialysis experience.
