Job Description:The primary purpose of the FNOL Examiner is to be the first point of contact for both the Hertz field locations as well as customers to establish the initial claim file. The Examiner will be responsible for the triage of all incoming documents and calls to determine where the file is to be handled, ensure the file is complete, and gather information from parties outside Hertz to ensure proper decisions can be made to either refer to HCM, CRU, or close as a “Rest” file. The examiner will bill damage files to customers and/or insurance carriers. The examiner will also determine who to bill, what kind of letter to send and what documents need to be sent with the letter on initial billings for US and Canadian subrogation files. The examiners are responsible for maintaining an accurate billing file and backlog count and other duties as assigned by the supervisor.What Will You Do:
  • Initially review and set up damage claims for billing or liability referral
  • Validate proper coverages and billing adjustments based upon rental agreement information
  • Handle all calls from customers, insurers, or Hertz locations to establish if information needs to be appended to an existing file, referred to Third Party Administrator, or a new file opened. If new, all information is to be documented in a pre-established for
  • Ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Receive and research written correspondence regarding billing, collection, adjustment or disputes
  • Meet or exceed individual targets as assigned
  • Maintain portfolio aging within guidelines
  • Demonstrate professionalism when dealing with contacts
  • Maximize Collection efforts and customer satisfaction
  • Interact with both internal and external customers to resolve outstanding issues in a professional manner
  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of all collection activity
  • Develop a systematic approach for account reviews and calls
  • Include Customer Relations when addressing sensitive account issues
  • Include Hertz Sales when addressing sensitive account issues
  • Escalate accounts where financial instability is apparent
  • Respond to inquiries within 24 hours to maintain customer service
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
Educational Background: Minimum high school diploma or equivalent; some college education preferred.Professional Experience: Experience in an office environment working with others. Preferably a large office in which working through others is necessary.Knowledge:
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.
