- One (1) year of direct patient care experience
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN)
- Hematology/Oncology-specific experience
- Three (3) years of direct patient care experience
- Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients, including physical status, emotional well-being, medical history, and symptoms.
- Monitors and manages treatment-related side effects such as nausea, fatigue, pain, and hematological changes, adjusting care plans as needed.
- Develops and participates in educating patients, their families, or significant others about the patient’s cancer diagnosis, treatment options, potential side effects, and supportive therapy plans.
- Collaborates with other health team members to collect and share pertinent data regarding patient’s physiological and psychological condition.
- Offers compassionate care and emotional support to patients and their families during a challenging time, addresses concerns and anxieties related to their cancer diagnosis.
- Maintains accurate and detailed patient records, including treatment details, vital signs, side effects, and patient progress.
- Initiates referrals upon initial assessment and throughout care based on patient-specific needs.
- Assists with survivorship care planning as needed.
- May function as a preceptor– acts as a resource for onboarding new employees.
- Performs other duties as assigned based on department needs.

- This role requires regular and sustained attendance.
- The position may necessitate working beyond a standard 40-hour workweek, including weekends and after-hours shifts.
- On-call work may be required to respond promptly to organizational, patient, or employee needs.
