Lab Assistant2nd: 12-8:30 p.m. or 2:00-10:30 p.m. M-FJob DescriptionAs a Lab Assistant, you will assist the prep staff by labeling containers, washing glassware, and transporting samples to appropriate locations. This role is dynamic, requiring you to be on your feet all day and maintain a high attention to detail. Initially, you will be trained for a year in preparation duties, with the potential to apply for lab positions thereafter.Responsibilities
  • Reduce samples to powder or liquid form using liquid nitrogen.
  • Label and store samples accurately.
  • Follow company regulations with strong attention to detail and documentation.
  • Utilize a 5lb hammer for grinding samples.
  • Stand for the majority of the day (90%+).
  • Be flexible to average 5 hours of overtime per week based on workload.
Essential Skills
  • Lab assistant experience
  • Sample preparation and management
  • Experience in biology, chemistry, biochemistry, or environmental science
  • High attention to detail and documentation under GLP regulations
  • Ability to work independently and reliably
  • 1+ years of experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Associate's degree in Biotechnology with 2 years of industry lab experience or
  • High School diploma with 3-4+ years of repetitive work experience and the ability to lift 40-50 lbs
