Position Summary
The Production Associate (Receiving) works in coordination with the Account Managers and Production Manager to ensure that product is available timely for customer store launches and kitting jobs. Once product is received, they work with the Production Manager to lead other Production Associates in picking and shipping product to fulfill store orders or to prepare kits for shipment. The Production Associate (Receiving) is expected to cross-train on print production and mailing equipment to support the entire production team when receiving and kitting is slow. Brandscape holds high standards for quality, accuracy, and attention to detail. The Production Associate (Receiving) must notice and correct tiny inconsistencies between kits and mailpieces; and ensure consistency between a job ticket and a finished product. This position has the opportunity for increasing responsibilities, specialization, and advancement should business needs and employee performance support that.Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Receiving (estimated 20%)
  • Match all incoming shipments to an open order OR route to customer service.
  • Count all incoming product, reconcile to packing list, and log into inventory software.
  • Route received product to storage or production areas.
  • Consult with Account Managers about incorrect and damaged shipments.
  • Perform inventory counts as requested.
Production – Kitting (estimated 20%)
  • Read job tickets and consult with Account Managers to get design approval on finished kits.
  • Create efficient layout of kit components.
  • Accurately and quickly create quantities of kits that match the approved appearance.
  • When necessary for large jobs, lead and instruct other production staff on the kitting process .
Production – Print and Mail (estimated 60%)
  • Read job tickets and consult with the Production Manager to determine the steps needed to output and transform large-format pages to their finished form.
  • Utilize print finishing equipment such as folding, cutting, and binding machines.
  • Perform final quality assurance/quality control inspections to ensure the finished product matches the job ticket before it goes to the final packaging step(s).
  • Operate direct mail production equipment such as inserting machines, postage meters, and commercial inkjet printers.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all equipment by:
  • Performing scheduled preventative maintenance.
  • Notifying Production Manager of any need for parts, supplies, or outside service on machinery.
  • Troubleshooting equipment according to user manuals and/or established protocols.
  • Maintain work area through accurate use of recycling programs and cleaning protocols.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
Required
  • Aged eighteen (18) or over.
  • Able to understand, implement, and respond to written and verbal communication in English.
  • Able to work independently when provided with a written schedule.
  • Highly proficient in Windows based computer applications.
  • Proficient in arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
  • Familiar with laser printer function and terminology.
  • Aptitude for light mechanical work.
Preferred
  • Familiar with one or more of the following programs: Fiery, Adobe Acrobat, Xetex Xebra, DataPac, eSmart-Mail, Jet Letter.
  • Familiar with high-speed digital printers (Ricoh highly preferred)
  • Familiar with USPS mail classes and standards.
  • Familiar with operation of any of the following print finishing or lettershop equipment: folder, cutter, tabber, inserter, strapper, glue machine, inkjet printer (other than home printers), streamfeeder, and similar.
Physical Demands and Work Environment

  • Able to operate machinery at both seated and standing work heights.
  • Able to regularly lift and carry up to thirty-five (35) pounds throughout the workday.
  • Able to occasionally lift and carry up to one hundred fifty (150) pounds.
  • Able to push/pull handcarts, skid steers, and/or battery operated pallet jacks,
  • Able to perform repetitive fine motor tasks, such as separating individual sheets of paper and applying adhesive stickers.
While some production equipment generates bursts of noise, the work environment is comparable to a normal office noise level.The work area is indoors in a warehouse type building with smooth concrete floors.
