
Emissions Technician II (CC-Carlsbad)

- Responsible for submitting accurate field service reports, expense reports, timesheets and other necessary paperwork daily.
- Responsible for providing basic leadership and training to new Emissions Technician I and Emissions Trainee.
- Independently diagnose and repair engine tuning and performance failures accurately and efficiently.
- Ability to use software and programs associated with portable emissions analyzers.
- Ability to perform operation and maintenance of portable emissions analyzers.
- Ability to access, remove, inspect, determine condition of, replace or reinstall catalyst.
- Capable of installation, maintenance and troubleshooting of air / fuel ratio controllers and other engine emission control devices.
- All duties and responsibilities could include a large amount of travel at short notice including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Provides input to Supervisor on personnel and materials needs to provide optimal job planning.
- Ability to complete accurate and timely diagnostics and repairs of engines and controls on gas compressor packages in the field in adverse conditions with limited to no supervision.
- Responsible for accurate troubleshooting of electrical systems, basic controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, and Altronic.
- Responsible for accurately completing basic engine tuning functions to adjust engine performance and emissions on multiple major OEM's (CAT/Waukesha)
- Possess knowledge and ability to respond and repair recurring problems and emergency services as needed independently.
- Understanding of Caterpillar Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP) and similar OEM software
- Knowledge and ability to perform mechanical inspection using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment and other specialty tools independently.
- Must be able to be on a call-out rotation and effectively make emergency repairs.
- Must recognize and comply with Health, Safety and Environmental rules and policies of Enerflex and those that are applicable to each location.
- Other Duties assigned by supervisor.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and some vocational/technical related experience preferred
- Must have 5-10 years applicable experience
- Must have experience working on a wide range of natural gas compressor packages and a firm grasp of the theories, components, controls, and adjustments required
- Prefer certification from CAT/ Waukesha (or equivalent training) to things such as:
- CAT Gas I
- CAT Gas II
- CAT Electrical
- Ariel Basic
- CAT 3500 ADEM III
- CAT 3500ULB
- Waukesha VHP
- Must be able to work under pressure
- Must be able to work with the team in developing improved work processes for the department
- Ability to lift, pull, push minimum of 75 lbs.
- Ability to stand, kneel, bend, and stretch over and under pipeline equipment.
- Ability to work in all climates and temperatures to do repairs on equipment.
