Scope of job -- Supervise factory employees in a distribution, manufacturing or assembly environment: plan and assign work, implement policies and procedures and recommend improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensure manning of all scheduled workstations by qualified employees
Train operators as needed to run assigned jobs properly
Assist operators in interpretation and execution of quality standards and operating procedures
Run to production plan/schedule and achieve productivity and quality goals
Ensure that all operator paperwork is properly and completely filled out
Document progress and issues in daily log book
Ensure techs and team members are performing their jobs efficiently
Assist operators and techs as needed (breaks, alarms)
Act as coach and facilitator for production crew
Conduct training sessions to keep workers' job knowledge up to date
Ensure that quantity, quality and location of tools, equipment and materials are adequate for the assigned tasks
Ensure proper maintenance of records regarding process quality, product quality, safety and health, environmental protection, inventory status, attendance and production levels (future)
Evaluate performance of teams and individual workers, and counsel all concerned for continuing improvement
Conduct annual performance appraisals for operators as needed
Drive a continuous improvement culture
Drive improvements, monitor results, and take actions as necessary
Work closely with other areas such as engineering, marketing, sales, supply chain, human resources, training and payroll
Ensure effective employee relations; providing employee coaching and development; making employment decisions; resolving employee issues through problem resolution
Balance quality, productivity, cost, safety and morale to achieve positive results in all areas; working to continuously improve in all areas
Manage departmental performance measures, including visual controls and providing regular progress reports to Operations Manager
Maintain and control departmental budget
Investigate issues, problem solving, and continuous improvement on order processing and operating efficiently
Facilitate bi-annual serialized inventory, audit and review serial number reports
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
Logistics only:
Achieve a high-level understanding of Process, RDS, and SAP picking and routing activates
Assist with training employees on the WMS and WCS process
Manage the pick, pack, label, and ship process
Prioritize orders based on ship window
Maintain and update WCS to meet customer specifications
Maintain inventory accuracy by physical movement and also electronic movement utilizing company software systems.
Perform cycle counts duties, including investigating discrepancies
Monitor shipments to ensure accurate A&D book records

Bachelor's degree or equivalent, and 5-7 years' experience in a manufacturing facility
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and techniques is preferred, and strong problem-solving skills are required
Pending position assigned, this position may require a working knowledge of Plastic Injection Molding (PIM), logistics operations, conventional machining, and assembly
An understanding and working knowledge of process development and improvement tools to drive improvement activities within the assigned manufacturing cell, as well as new product introduction, troubleshooting process and product problems
Competencies and Skills:
Must be able to communicate in English verbally and in writing (verbal instructions, written memos and instructions)
Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required
SAP (Preferred)
