Safety is a priority, employee must understand construction risks and bring them to the attention of their supervisor.
Proper selection, inspection, use and maintenance, of common electrical test equipment.
Ability to read electrical blueprints, including schematics, including one-lines and wiring diagrams.
Understands the purpose, use, and application of all circuit breakers, fuses, contractors, and relays.
Able to calculate and install potential transformers, current transformers, constant current transformers, and shielded
transformers.
Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices
such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system.
Requirements:
High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, equivalent number of years of education and
production maintenance experience or an Associate degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance
Familiarity with National Electrical Code
4+ years of electrical experience
Ability to work at heights greater than six feet off of the ground
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves, etc.)Instrument TechJOB SUMMARY:Must be familiar in instrumentation trouble-shooting and repair techniques. Should be able to install
tubing and assist the instrument technician in normal duties. Knowledge of interpreting schematics,
wiring diagrams, ladder logic, flow diagrams, P&ID's and construction blueprints is required. Will be
working with low voltage-115/240 volts. Must be qualified to operate a man-lift, scissor lift, forklift and
respirator fitted. Must be able to work in high places (not afraid of heights) and work in confined
spaces. Must be physically fit and should have the aptitude to advance to a senior instrumentation
technician. Ensures that refinery safety procedures are followed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTSHigh school education or equivalent.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in instrumentation and electronic maintenance with at least 1
years in refinery/petrochemical plants or satisfactory completion of two years of instrumentation
disciplines.
Must be computer literate for using plant programs i.e. condition monitoring, condition reporting and

o Must be able to maintain communications with I&E supervisors of job status and current
assigned responsibilities.
o Must be able to maintain a clean jobsite free of tripping hazards and unnecessary
obstacles.
o Must demonstrate knowledge of entry requirements for columns, vessels and heaters.
o Must have basic Computer skills.
o Must be capable of working in a fast paced environment.
o Must be capable of working outdoors in all types of weather conditions.
o Must be able to bend, squat and kneel.
o Must be capable of climbing ladders and scaffolds and working at heights.
o Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds unassisted.
o Must be able to work in confined spaces.
o Must be able to perform work wearing personnel protective equipment. Including but not
limited to the following: rain gear, chemical protective clothing, supplied air and air purifying
respirators, safety harness, sand blast hoods, Nomex coveralls, hard hat, ear plugs and safety
