- Collaborate with multi-functional teams during new product development to identify and address potential reliability and quality issues early on in the design cycle.
- Define and monitor implementation of reliability requirements to ensure customer expectations are met.
- Develop and implement reliability plans incorporating Design for Reliability (DfR) principles such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), derating, and early design testing.
- Collaborate with NPI teams to conduct system and component level reliability assessments including warranty analysis, reliability predictions, and validation testing to evaluate the design and performance of capital equipment for our semiconductor customers.
- Lead projects to improve the Design for Reliability culture within the organization by implementing industry standard practices, methodologies, and tools for reliability engineering.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reliability, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, service, and quality teams.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for reliability and quality issues, ensuring effective resolution and prevent recurrence by applying advanced problem-solving tools (8D, 5-Why, Kepner Tregoe).
- Mentor and train engineering team members on quality tools such as Statistical Process Control (SPC), FMEAs, and problem-solving methods.
- Support Quality Assurance and ISO processes as needed.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in reliability engineering and quality assurance, preferably in the semiconductor industry or a related field.
- Certifications such as Reliability Engineer (CRE), Quality Engineer (CQE), or Six-Sigma Green or Black Belt are a plus.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of reliability engineering principles, methodologies, and tools, such as reliability predictions, FMEA, Weibull analysis, and accelerated life testing.
- Experience in driving a design for reliability culture and implementing best practices for reliability engineering.
- Experience with problem solving and risk management tools (8D, CAPA, Kepner-Tregoe, 5-Why, Fishbone, FMEA).
- Solid understanding of quality assurance principles, methodologies and tools, including statistical process control (SPC), root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations, such as SEMI standards and ISO 9001.
- Demonstrated good communications skills and able to work effectively with multi-functional teams on projects including international and multicultural teams and suppliers and customers.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.) and data analysis tools (e.g. JMP, Reliasoft)
- Domestic travel 10-25%.
