Senior NPDI Engineer – Two-Phase Liquid Cooling Systems
- Westerville, OH
- Permanent
- Full-time
- Drive end-to-end development of two-phase liquid cooling systems including system architecture, component selection, and integration of evaporators, condensers, pumps, and sealed loop assemblies.
- Lead execution of NPDI deliverables including BOM creation and management, PLM workflows, design validation testing (DVT), and engineering change management.
- Analyze system-level thermal performance and collaborate with validation teams to interpret DVT results and resolve issues related to flow stability, critical heat flux, and two-phase behavior.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams-electrical, thermal, manufacturing, sourcing, and quality-to ensure system-level integration and product readiness.
- Support alignment to compliance and safety certifications, and contribute to internal design reviews, documentation, and gate review milestones.
- Provide technical leadership in reviewing supplier designs, validating hardware test results, and ensuring performance-to-cost targets are met.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Thermal Sciences, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 15 years of experience in new product development, with at least 10 years focused on liquid cooling systems
- In-depth understanding of two-phase thermal principles, including phase-change physics, flow instabilities, and heat transfer limits
- Demonstrated ability to manage NPDI stage-gate processes, including PLM workflows, BOMs, ECOs, and DVT planning/execution
- Proficient in PLM tools (e.g., PD Cloud, Windchill, Oracle Agile), and familiar with CAD systems (e.g., Creo, SolidWorks)
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across global teams
- Familiarity with component reliability testing and compliance standards for thermal systems
- Ability to interpret test data, assess root cause, and drive resolution across engineering and manufacturing functions
