We proudly provide top quality foods, toys, treats, and supplements for your pets and livestock.Job Summary:Reporting to the upper management and ultimately to the owner, the full charge bookkeeper will manage the company’s complete accounting cycle, including AP, AR, payroll processing, GL entries and maintenance and bank reconciliations.Duties / Responsibilities:Accounts Management:Manage and process AP, AR, credit card and other financial accounts.Payroll Processing:Reconcile employee timecards and submit to external HR management service to process.Bank & Credit Card Reconciliations:Reconcile and balance company ledgers, bank and credit card statements to identify discrepancies.General Ledger & Financial Statements:Maintain GL; post journal entries; assist in preparing accurate financial statements and reports.Tax:Assist in the preparation of documents and reports required by external CPA firm for tax returns for multiple business entries. Track, report and remit monthly sales tax collected for all cities, districts, counties and CA state.Record Keeping:Maintain accurate financial records, including source documents and other financial data, while ensuring compliance with GAAP accounting regulations and standards.Budgeting / Forecasting:Assist with budgeting and forecasting, including analyzing financial data.Compliance & Audits:Provide support/assistance with audits and ensure financial records are compliant with local, state, and federal regulations.Reporting:Generate financial reports for management and other stakeholders.External CPA Firm:Generate financial reports for management and other stakeholders.Regularly communicate financial information to management and other stakeholders, including representing reports and answering questions.Qualifications:At least 5 years of relevant experience in bookkeeping or accounting;Associate’s Degree in Accounting, or related discipline; Bachelor’s Degree preferred;Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting;Proficiency in the MS Office suite of products and industry-related accounting software, including QuickBooks;Experience in preparing financial statements and reports;Ability to analyze financial data and provide insightsAstute oral and written communication and interpersonal skills;Exceptional organizational, analytical, time management, problem-solving, multi-tasking, attention to detail and follow-through skills.Working Hours:8:00AM – 5:00PM Monday – Friday, with occasional weekend, as needed.Compensation:$28.00 - $36.00 per hour DOE, for this full-time, non-exempt position.Benefits:Medical and dental insurance;Following 90 days of employment, 40 hours of paid vacation annually on an accrual basis; rising to 80 hours in years 2 - 5;40 hours of paid sick time annually, which begins accruing on start date; eligibility for use is after 90 days of employment;401(K) not company matched;Employee discount on company products.Location:2527 Los Berros Road, Arroyo Grande.
