
Machinist II - 2nd shift

- Complete setup including programming (Fanuc Controls or G Code preferred), editing, operation and preventative maintenance on CNC milling centers, CNC lathes and/or CNC mills.
- Perform off-sets, fixturing and recognize signs of tool wear and poor finish and make adjustments to correct.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures and standards and participate in efforts to improve processes, product flow and work standards
- Complete required paperwork (manual and electronic) in a timely and accurate manner
- Maintain safety and cleanliness of equipment and work area
- Perform work, promote teamwork and communicate in conjunction with our culture and corporate standards (Safety/Environmental, Quality, Continuous Improvement, Communication, Internal Controls, etc.).
- Inspect parts for conformance to prints and specifications.
- Performs manual and electronic record keeping and information retrieval functions.
- Perform secondary operations such as deburring, chip removal, bushing installation, drilling, and tapping.
- Understanding GD&T - including but not limited to reading and understanding gaging, know G and M codes, understand machine setups

- High School Diploma, GED/HSE/HiSET or equivalent *required
- Additional Technical training *preferred.
- 2-4 years manual machining (including but not limited to mills, drills and grinders) experience *much preferred.
- 1-3 years experience with CNC programming, operation and setup with various controls including Fanuc Controls, Mazatrol Controls and Allen/Bradley Controls on CNC milling centers, CNC lathes and/or CNC mills *much preferred.
- Experience doing precision machining using manual machines such as threading, boring and grooving *preferred.
- Veterans with MOS experience maintaining and operating precision mechanical systems are strongly encouraged to apply. *preferred
- Competencies:
- Material handling equipment (Lift truck, two wheeled truck, carts, etc.
- Cranes, hoist, screw jacks, hydraulic jacks.
- Manual, power driven, and pneumatic hand tools, electronic engraver, Power saw, cutoff wheel, grinders, hydraulic press, radial drill, arbor press, Arc Welding, acetylene cutting equipment and threading machine, Precision measuring instruments, gages, meters
- Mechanical aptitude and the ability to read and apply mathematics to work from engineering drawings and schematics to determine assembly procedures and problem solve.
- Basic understanding of the fundamentals of electricity.
- Ability to operate precision instruments and lifting equipment
- Mathematics skills including proficiency subtracting, multiplying and dividing for the purpose of calculating material fabrication.
- Ability to communicate effectively, verbally in the English language to understand and use written or verbal control and work instructions,
- Ability to analyze and problem solve to resolve various technical and interpersonal issues with collaboration, respect and professionalism.
- Possess a demonstrated ability to work within a team.
- Understand and demonstrate a proactive safety approach.
- Possess good problem solving skills with limited supervision.
- Proven ability to direct, train, and give guidance on the assembly activities and processes.
- Must maintain a good attendance record.
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
- Ability to run key machines within areas of responsibility.
- Strong experience using machining centers in a job shop environment.
- Able to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, specifications, setup sheets, etc.; Precision measuring instruments, gages, meters
- Able to be forklift certified; Able to be Hazmat certified; Able to operate overhead cranes/hoists
- Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading, shop math (decimals, fractions, geometry, trigonometry, etc.) and GD&T, Manufacturing Principles (Safety, Quality, Lean, Process Flow, etc.)
- Awareness of Safety and Quality Systems; Able to read and interpret work instructions and procedures
- Computer (MS Windows, Lab View, Excel)

- This position requires the incumbent to stand for extended periods of time, frequently grasp tools, stoop, twist, crouch, lift/push/pull, reach, stand, and walk when performing duties for at least 8 hours a day.
- Able to lift 50 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities include close, distance and peripheral vision.
- Demonstrated strong work ethic (including good attendance), strong organizational skills and strong communication skills (written and oral).
- Able to work in a non-climate controlled factory or field environment.
