Join us.Job DescriptionAECOM is seeking a Mid-Level Remediation Engineer for employment in our Chelmsford, MA or Providence, RI office. In this role, you will perform specific and limited portions of a broader assignment of an experienced engineer with this office and partner offices throughout the Northeast. This position would support the Environmental business line, primarily working on CERCLA and Department of Defense (DoD) projects. Candidates experienced and knowledge of soil and sediment excavation and landfill capping are strongly encouraged to apply.Responsibilities of this position, include the following:
  • Serve as task lead for remediation activities including field oversight of remediation construction (e.g., landfill construction/capping, excavation, air monitoring), remedial design, review and reporting
  • Monitor field QA/QC procedures and development of QA/QC manuals
  • Gather and correlate engineering and scientific data using established and well-defined procedures
  • Prepare technical work plans and reports
  • Perform unsupervised field tasks
  • Review analytical data for general indicators of quality for routine analyses based on well-defined guidelines
  • Coordinate with task and project managers, work with on-site subcontractors and field staff, support environmental sampling, data collection, and field documentation.
  • Understand hazard recognition during environmental investigation and remediation activities
  • Travel to various job sites within the US
  • Flexible to work on a multitude of diverse projects, a positive attitude, and commitment to workplace health and safety (H&S)
QualificationsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Environmental or Civil)6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or educationValid U.S. Driver's LicenseCandidate must be able to provide proof of US CitizenshipPreferred Qualifications:6+ years of Remediation Engineering experience on CERCLA / DOD sitesLandfill cover oversight and design experienceCERCLA and DOD experienceEngineer in Training, and on tract to obtain Professional Engineering license within 2 to 3 yearsStrong technical report writing skills and the ability to develop design specificationsAbility to assist with the preparation of cost estimates for remediation plans and activitiesMust be able to travel for 1-2 weeks at a time, periodicallyProficient in Microsoft Excel and Word programsCandidate must be able to meet the medical clearance requirements of an OSHA medical surveillance physical examination40-hour HAZWOPER trainingFamiliarity with EPA and USACE requirements for Health and Safety and QA/QCOSHA 10-hr or 30-hr Construction H&S certificationFirst Aid/CPR trainingFamiliar with various remedial systems design, installation, and Operation & Maintenance requirements (landfill caps and controls, SVE, in-situ groundwater treatment)Additional Information#LI-EM1About AECOMAECOM is proud to offer a comprehensive benefits program to meet the diverse needs of our employees.
