We are looking for an experienced Carpenter Foreman to join our commercial construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. This role involves constructing, installing, repairing, and finishing while ensuring projects meet safety and quality standards. If you thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, we want you on our team!What You'll Be Doing:As a Carpenter Foreman, you will be an essential part of the project team, ensuring everything runs smoothly from start to finish. You will have a hands-on role and lead by example while working directly with a team or individually.
  • Convey site needs with Field Operations Manager, Shop Coordinator, and Project Manager.
  • Coordination/Communication with owners and project manager.
  • Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to construct and repair structures.
  • Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials with precision using hand tools, power tools, and machinery.
  • Shoot and layout grade elevations.
  • Calculate material and elevation of job sites.
  • Manage and supervisor employees on job site.
  • Keep the project site clean and appearance professional daily.
  • Prepare site for appropriate work tasks.
  • Proficiently read construction documents (plans, specifications, shop drawings, etc.).
  • Accurately complete daily work hours in timekeeping system. This includes using appropriate job numbers, work codes, and equipment allocations.
  • Coach and Mentor employees in their career development to build skill levels within their position.
  • Work with Safety Manager to investigate damage, incidents or near missed in the worksite, and ensure proper procedures are carried out according to the Company's Safety Program.
  • Attend and participate in all required safety training and toolbox talks.
  • Promote, execute, and adhere to the Company's safety program (particularly the use of hardhats, safety glasses, and work boots and encourage all employees to adopt safety as a culture.
  • Identify location of first aid kits, fire extinguisher, Safety Data Sheets (SDS), egress route, and emergency information when reporting to a jobsite.
  • Demonstrate a safety presence, lead by example.
What you need to qualify:
  • 5+ years of experience as a Foreman in a related role in commercial construction.
  • Ability to read construction documents and interpret plans, specifications, and shop drawings.
  • Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and best practices.
  • Ability to perform algebra and geometry for layout and material calculations.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel between job sites.
  • Experience with equipment operation and maintenance.
  • Proficiency in OSHA regulations and safety standards.
