The DC is seeking individuals that thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, enjoy learning new responsibilities, and seek to capitalize on opportunities for personal and professional development.At the DC, we will provide WORLD CLASS SERVICE to our stores by investing in our people and continuously striving for operational excellence.The Senior Warehouse Supervisor – 2nd shift leads a diverse distribution center team, ensuring efficient operations, timely output, and adherence to all TPS policies and local ordinances. This role oversees staffing, performance development, cross-training, and daily communication to support business needs and a positive team culture.The Senior Warehouse Supervisor – 2nd shift reports directly to the DC Area Manager.BEHAVIORAL COMPETENCIES:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Respect for and adherence to local ordinances, including but not limited to noise ordinances limiting the loading, unloading and operating shipping and delivery trucks to specific time periods each day.
  • Be a TPS brand ambassador.
  • Be a role model for associates by following all TPS policies and procedures.
  • Contribute to The Paper Store’s commitment to providing a positive associate culture.
  • Manage a diverse team of individual contributors, temporary associates, and supervisors ranging from 15 to 45 people depending on the time of year.
  • Organize and conduct daily department meetings to communicate achievements, results, information and goals.
  • Build a versatile shift, overseeing the training of team members in all functions within the DC and facilitating the opportunity to cross train in other departments.
  • Assess all team members through the annual performance review process and quarterly succession planning.
  • Strong knowledge of warehouse procedures, inventory management, and material handling equipment
  • Collaborate with distribution center leaders to determine appropriate staffing levels that meet the needs of the business throughout the year.
  • Collaborate with first shift and department leaders to ensure seamless handoffs
  • Handle escalations and resolve operational issues in real time
  • Strong knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management Systems)
  • Excellent communication and team leadership skills
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as needed
  • Develop associates through regular one-on-one meetings, goal setting and follow up, training plans, and exposure to assignments with increased responsibility.
  • Maintain output timeliness and accuracy within all department functions, ensuring the correct product is sent to stores at the correct time.
  • Comply with the DC dress code, with professional attire, appearance, and demeanor.
  • Prepare for, participate in, and contribute to warehouse/department meetings.
  • Create an environment which encourages the team to look for ways to improve productivity and processes.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization for a safe and efficient workplace.
  • Build and maintain effective relationships with all stake holders including corporate partners and vendors.
  • Be a continuous learner by taking initiative for self-development, seeking to improve skills and enhance knowledge.
  • Complete all tasks as assigned by senior leaders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Respect for and adherence to local ordinances, including but not limited to noise ordinances limiting the loading, unloading, and operating shipping and delivery trucks to specific time periods each day.
  • 3+ years of supervising in a distribution center/warehouse environment
  • The ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment quickly and successfully.
  • Strong commitment to working collaboratively.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Computer and database application skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and Warehouse Management Systems experience. Aptos experience a plus
  • Strong organizational skills, including prioritizing, scheduling and time management.
  • Demonstrates professional etiquette both written and verbal.
  • Work Schedule: 2nd Shift, Monday – Friday 4:00 PM to 12:30 AM.
  • Scheduling flexibility to work varied shifts and weekends based on the needs of the business.
  • Ability to climb up and down ladders.
  • Ability to stand and walk for eight hours.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds and push/pull 75 pounds.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONSIDERATIONS:
  • Varying temperature inside the distribution center depending on external conditions.
