Click here: Join the MercyOne Family!We are looking to hire a Pharmacy Tech!As a Pharmacy Tech at MercyOne, you will is responsible for working with newly admitted patients to obtain and document an accurate medication list to help avoid medication duplications, omissions, and errors. The information obtained will be entered into a computer system.
- Prepares unit dose medications by repackaging following established departmental procedures. Packages and labels medications as appropriate.
- Develops proficiency in use of the pharmacy outpatient computer system, including but not limited to prescription preparation, third party billing and reversal of claims.
- Supports maintaining inventory of drugs and supplies. Maintains records as requested.
- Appropriately receives and documents shipments of pharmaceuticals and supplies, unpacks, prices, and properly places them into inventory as requested. Maintains pharmacy areas in a clean and orderly manner.
- Develops understanding of the enterprise phone system including but not limited to call transfer, parking, paging, and message taking.
- Develops skills in effective communication with patients, public, hospital personnel and fellow employees, in person and via telephone. Develops understanding of basic computer skills for area of responsibility.
- Develops understanding and familiarity with pharmacy equipment and software and follows policy and/or procedure associated use.
- Develops skills associated with the Automated medication dispensing system (Pyxis). Utilizes the system according to department expectations.

- Basic math and typing skills required.
- Previous experience in pharmacy setting helpful, but not required.
- Medical and/or science background helpful, but not required.
- Strong interpersonal, consultative and relationship building skills to initiate and develop productive collaborative partnership with all levels of leadership across the organization. Ability to effectively influence results, garner support and tactfully manage complex relationships within and across the organization. Extremely high level of diplomacy and tact are required. Ability to read the subtle nuances of situation and react/plan accordingly.
- Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.
- Must have a High School diploma or GED.
