Mold Apprentice/AssistantApplication Deadline: 8 September 2025Department: Manufacturing / Operations / QualityEmployment Type: Full TimeLocation: US - Oklahoma - Oklahoma City 2Compensation: $20.00 / hourDescriptionThe Mold Apprentice will support the Mold Maintenance and Tooling departments by learning to maintain, repair, and fabricate injection molds. This hands-on role is designed to provide training and experience in injection mold tooling processes, machinery operation, and mold troubleshooting under the guidance of experienced toolmakers and technicians.Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly of injection molds.
  • Learn to troubleshoot and identify causes of mold damage, wear, and operational issues.
  • Participate in preventive maintenance programs for molds and tooling components.
  • Operate basic shop equipment including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDM machines under supervision.
  • Learn to interpret mold drawings, blueprints, and CAD files.
  • Help document mold maintenance activities and mold history in maintenance logs or systems (e.g., CMMS).
  • Clean and organize the tool room and mold storage areas.
  • Assist in mold changeovers and setup when needed.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.
  • Attend training sessions and participate in skills development as part of the apprenticeship program
  • Other duties as assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:This position has limited supervisory responsibilities.Skills Knowledge and ExpertisePOSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong interest in hands-on work.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems and tooling components.
  • Ability to read a ruler, micrometer, and calipers.
  • Willingness to learn and take direction from senior team members.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:Equivalent of four years of high school and/or 6 to 12 months manufacturing/warehouse/QC related experience or a combination of education and experience.PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES:

o Regularly required to sit, talk, or hear.o Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel and to reach with hands and arms.o Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb, or balance.
