- Quality Control and Improvement: Develop and implement quality control processes for brake products, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications. Lead quality improvement initiatives to enhance product performance and reliability.
- Root Cause Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations of product defects and failures, utilizing tools such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and 8D problem-solving methodologies to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product development, manufacturing, supply chain, and regulatory teams to ensure seamless integration of quality standards throughout the product lifecycle.
- Financial Metrics Monitoring: Monitor and analyze financial metrics related to product quality, including cost of quality, warranty claims, and returns. Provide regular reports to senior management on quality-related financial performance.
- Cost Reduction Initiatives: Identify and recommend actions to reduce quality-related costs, such as process improvements, supplier quality enhancements, and defect reduction strategies.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all brake products comply with relevant industry regulations and standards, including those set by the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of quality inspections, test results, and corrective actions. Prepare detailed reports for internal stakeholders and regulatory agencies as required.
- STONG automotive knowledge. The ideal candidate has performed complex mechanical/electrical repairs on car and light truck platforms.
- Must be comfortable communicating with automotive repairs shops (Service Advisors and Repair Technicians) to obtain knowledge on specific part defects.
- STRONG knowledge of OEM and aftermarket automotive products.
- Proficiency in designing, executing, and interpreting automotive brake part testing.
- Strong knowledge of quality engineering principles and methodologies.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis and quality tools (e.g., Minitab, Six Sigma).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
- Familiarity with automotive industry regulations and standards.
