The Pulmonary Division is launching an innovative High Risk Asthma Program, and we are seeking a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider (APP) — Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) — to join our collaborative care team. This role focuses on the evaluation and management of pediatric patients with asthma in the ambulatory setting, with services provided across three clinic locations: Seattle, Federal Way, and the Odessa Brown Children’s Clinic.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a forward-thinking initiative that aims to improve outcomes for high-risk asthma patients through comprehensive, family-centered care.Learn more about our Pulmonary Division !Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct care and assume primary responsibility for the clinical management of pediatric asthma patients in outpatient, emergency department, inpatient, and operating room settings as neededConduct patient histories, physical exams, and ongoing assessmentsOrder, perform, and interpret diagnostic tests relevant to asthma diagnosis and managementDevelop individualized treatment plans, prescribe medications, and provide education to patients and familiesCollaborate closely with attending physicians, specialists, and a multidisciplinary healthcare teamParticipate in case management, care coordination, and follow-up planningContribute to performance and quality improvement initiatives within the divisionSupport educational and research efforts aimed at improving asthma care outcomesRequired Education and Experience:Master's degree in nursing with a concentration in a pediatric or family nurse practitioner program OR graduate of a nationally accredited physician assistant program.One year work experience in a pediatric or family focused clinical area.Required Credentials:For NPs:Active, unencumbered registered nurse and advanced registered nurse practitioner licensure in the State of WashingtonCurrent national certification as a pediatric or family nurse practitionerFor PAs:Active, unencumbered physician assistant licensure in the State of WashingtonInitial certification by the National Commission on Certification of Physician AssistantsFor All Providers:Active Drug Enforcement Authority registrationCurrent American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Professionals is required at time of hire and to be maintained continuously throughout employment. American Heart Association Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) will also be accepted in lieu of BLS for Healthcare Professionals.Some clinical locations may require American Heart Association Pediatric Life Support training and continuous maintenance of certification.Active clinical privileges as an Allied Health Provider at Seattle Children's Hospital must be secured prior to time of hire and must be maintained in good standing and in compliance with all medical staff bylaws, continuously throughout employment.Any and all medical or allied health professional staff privileges at Children's will terminate automatically upon the termination of the individual's employment at Children's.
