Managing Budgets: The ability to be a good steward of state resources by effectively managing allocated fundsIf you're compassionate, organized, and thrive in a people-centered environment, this could be the opportunity for you!Minimum QualificationsSix years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORSix years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORA bachelor's degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORA bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus three years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORAn advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics plus two years of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking; ORPossession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license plus one year of experience in accounting, auditing, financial operations, payroll, or banking.EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.Job SpecificationThe official job specifications for this role, as defined by the State Civil Service, can be found .Job Duties and Other InformationJob Duties:
  • Analyzes data, extracts information, prepares applications for automated systems, and manipulates information in the preparation of complex financial reports and schedules.
  • Communicates with public and private accountants; state, federal, and independent auditors; banks; brokerage firms; and program or management personnel for the purpose of providing information and technical assistance needed to resolve problems.
  • Ensures that accurate internal ledgers and records are maintained and are reconciled periodically with reports generated by ISIS, the agency Accounting Services Division, or equivalent.
