The position of Systems Engineer presents a unique opportunity for an engineer who wants to address climate change at the systems level. There are layers of exciting technical challenges in our space: the discovery, tracking, accounting, and exchange of value related to the production of renewable energy. The platform we’ve established needs the talents of a well-rounded engineer who can strategize, build, code, architect, analyze, and push what’s possible with modern technology.More specifically, you’ll design and build software-based systems in a hybrid architecture comprising a conventional services backend and modern low-code application platforms. You’ll be responsible for the systems that underlie all areas of the business—one that is in the thick of scaling its operations. While you’ll be primarily focused on core infrastructure (business logic, database, process flows, integrations), you’ll stay very close to our web product and user experience. Our core low-code platforms include Bubble, Xano, Airtable, and Make. You’ll work closely with the software team to deliver functionality and advance operations. - Bachelors degree in an engineering program
- 3 years experience working on projects delivering software-based systems
- Javascript proficiency (basics skills, could be brushed-up)
Sun Tribe’s HQ is in Charlottesville, VA on the historic downtown mall. Our team is based both in Charlottesville and Richmond, and we’re open to candidates within a few hours of Charlottesville.Ideally, you are local or willing to relocate to Charlottesville. Expected salary range: $110,000-150,000, commensurate with experience.
