Project Overview: (12 month Project)We are seeking a highly experienced React Architect/Developer to lead the front-end development for a large and complex enterprise application. This is not just a development role, the selected candidate will design and architect the entire front-end framework, ensuring seamless integration with back-end services and APIs.This individual will serve as the sole front-end engineer on the team, responsible for both implementation and architectural decisions that will shape the user interface and integration strategy. This is a high profile update for a NOAA application and the candidate will work with a team of Java and GCP Engineers for migration.Primary Responsibilities:
  • Lead the front-end architecture and design for a mission-critical, large-scale web application.
  • Develop and maintain highly responsive UI components using React, JavaScript, and TypeScript.
  • Define best practices for front-end and API integration with back-end RESTful services.
  • Implement secure authentication and authorization workflows using OAuth2, OIDC, and OpenSAML.
  • Collaborate closely with back-end engineers, architects, and product owners to ensure system-wide cohesion.
  • Own front-end technical decisions, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance.
  • Provide mentorship and establish coding standards, even as the sole front-end resource.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • 6+ years of hands-on experience with React (deep expertise required).
  • Extensive experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, and REST API integration.
  • Proven track record designing and architecting complex front-end applications.
  • Strong expertise with OAuth2, OIDC, and OpenSAML authentication frameworks.
Desired Skills & Qualifications:
  • Experience working in federal or enterprise-scale projects.
  • Familiarity with modern CI/CD pipelines, containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud platforms (Particularly GCP ).
  • Background in mentoring or leading front-end teams.
  • Ability to work independently as the primary front-end engineer on a large-scale application.
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
