Salary: $110-120K plus uncapped bonus (paid 3x/year)Our client, a Top 5 Systems Integrator and industry leader in automation & controls space, is seeking an experienced Controls Engineer to design, program, and implement advanced control systems for industrial processes and machinery. This role involves full project lifecycle execution—from system architecture design through programming, commissioning, and client-site implementation.Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement control systems using PLC, DCS, RTU, and HMI/SCADA platforms.
- Develop system architectures, select components, create schematic diagrams, and prepare engineering documentation.
- Program PLCs (e.g., Rockwell Automation) using Ladder, Sequential Function Chart, and Structured Text.
- Configure HMI/SCADA platforms (e.g., Rockwell, Ignition) and develop supporting databases for historical data storage and visualization.
- Support control panel design, instrumentation specification, and field wiring.
- Integrate industrial networks (fiber, wired, wireless) using protocols such as Ethernet/IP, Profibus, Modbus, OPC, HART, and Foundation Fieldbus.
- Perform check-out, troubleshooting, and commissioning of systems at client sites.
- Apply knowledge of batch control (S88), cGMP, 21 CFR Part 11, GAMP5, and validation processes.
- May serve as technical lead or project manager on smaller-scale projects.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Control Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Computer Science.
- 5+ years of experience in control system design, programming, and commissioning.
- Strong experience with PLC, HMI/SCADA, and DCS platforms.
- Proficient in control panel design, electrical schematics, and applicable NEC standards.
- Familiarity with SQL databases for system integration.
- Ability to travel up to 25%.
