GENERAL DESCRIPTIONThe Data and Business Analyst will provide technical and analytical support to the Officeof the Registrar with a particular emphasis on data integrity, reporting, best practices,and process streamlining. Integrate business process expertise, knowledge of current policy and procedures as well as systems knowledge of Banner to solve systems issues or to propose new business practices. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: end of term processes, verifying graduation lists and printing of diplomas, management of student academic records with a pronounced emphasis on academic practices, needs, and compliance.

Experience with relational databases and reporting. Working knowledge of FERPA. Managerial work experience with student information systems is highly recommended.
Knowledge & SkillsPower user experience in working in an enterprise software system for higher education (Banner, PeopleSoft, Jenzabar, homegrown, etc.) Strong interpersonal skills and critical thinking. The successful candidate will possess a demonstrated ability to analyze and interpret data and to communicate effectively with a wide variety of constituencies. A strong technical background and thorough attention to detail are essential. Skills in data analysis, project management, communication, business process and policy analysis, and creativity are highly desired. A demonstrated understanding of the interconnectedness of multiple systems, cultures, and processes and the implications of change on the institution is preferred. Knowledge of essential student records protocol including adherence to FERPA regulations, AACRAO (American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers) guidelines, National Student Clearinghouse, and National Student Loan Data Service. Proficiency with Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge or willingness to learn SQL helpful.

Serve as a resource to Illinois Institute of Technology in the analysis of opportunities and the development of solutions to challenges related to academic services

Key ResponsibilityResponsible for accurately and completely reporting enrollment and degree information to the National Student Clearinghouse and the National Student Load Data Service, making updates as needed. Responsible for Gainful Employment reporting to the National Student Clearinghouse

Key ResponsibilityResponsible for assessing requests for security access (query and update) to studentforms in Banner in accordance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974(FERPA) and university policies. Granting, updating, or removing access using security classes. Serves as back up for the University Registrar in maintaining the security classes and roles.
