- Performance: Supervises daily operation of assigned area including oversight of staff performance, exam quality, positive patient experience (patient throughput with on-time starts) and all other matters pertaining to patient care in Imaging. Utilizes knowledge of assigned modalities, product lines, equipment and policy and procedures relating to the supervision of Imaging Services. Provides encouragement, education, support and training to motivate staff in meeting departmental and compliance standards. Supports team, answering process questions and addressing employee and patient concerns. With input from modality lead, and as assigned, completes staff performance reviews, job competencies and educational assessments. For areas with onsite Intake/Support Teams, ensures the team is performing accurate scheduling, verification of benefits, pre-authorization and pre-certification of Imaging exams.
- Workflow: Develops staff schedules, coordinates coverage for scheduled days off and call-outs. Assists in departments when busy, relieving staff for lunches/breaks, and performs Imaging exams (for the modality in which they hold a license or specialty examination) when needed. Provides troubleshooting/problem solving and makes decisions for assigned work area. Provides superior customer service to patients, physicians’ offices and fellow employees at all times. Informs technologists and patients of any delays striving to ensure on-time start of exams. Utilizes patient service recovery resources when appropriate.
- Financial: Performs time and attendance adjustments, monitors overtime, absenteeism and tardiness. Flexes staffing on a daily basis to meet labor standards. Tracks productivity and holds staff accountable for meeting goals. Orders office/clinical supplies ensuring adequate par levels and reducing controllable expenses to meet budget.
- Communication: Attempts to resolve patient issues delivering excellent customer service before escalating to manager. Provides constructive and instructive feedback to staff in a positive manner. Represents Imaging in mandatory meetings/committees disseminating information to staff as requested by leadership. Regularly meets with staff, physicians and leadership to ensure service levels are maintained.
- Associate in Business or Healthcare-related field
- 2 years of previous lead, coordinator and/or supervisory experience in a clinical or medical setting
- Leadership experience in imaging or related field. Experience with scheduling, coordinating, inventory, protocol management, productivity and labor tracking, performance improvement initiatives, budget management, service line strategy, and team member evaluation.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certified Required
- Current FL License as General Radiographer Required
- Registered Radiologist Assistant (ARRT-RRA) OR Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) OR Nuclear Medicine Technology Cert Board (NMTCB) OR American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT) Required
