Boll and Branch is looking for an Assistant Store Manager to join our growing retail team. The Assistant Store Manager (ASM) is a key partner to the Store Manager in achieving business goals and supporting daily store operations. This role focuses on enhancing team performance, delivering exceptional customer service, and maintaining operational excellence. The ASM serves as a leader on the sales floor, providing guidance to our Brand Ambassadors and ensuring the store functions successfully in the absence of the Store Manager. The ideal candidate is an inspiring leader with strong communication skills and retail management experience. This position is located in Westside Provisions in Atlanta, GA.Specific Responsibilities:Business Performance & Customer Experience
  • Work with the Store Manager and Brand Ambassadors to create memorable experiences for our customers, helping to build lasting relationships with them and our brand.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to develop and execute business strategies that drive sales and brand awareness, including community outreach and customer engagement initiatives.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and execute corrective actions as needed.
  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing concerns, celebrating successes, and modeling company values.
  • Achieve and exceed sales plan expectations. Takes action to obtain the highest level of profitability for the store.
  • Perform virtual, in-store and in-home design consultations for our customers while making additional recommendations to drive store sales and customer retention.
  • Be an expert in all Boll & Branch products and train all team members to be the same.
Leadership & Mentorship
  • Mentor and develop Brand Ambassadors by providing consistent feedback on sales performance and client relationships, product knowledge, and skill-building opportunities.
  • Foster a positive work environment by addressing concerns, recognizing Brand Ambassadors' contributions, celebrating team successes, and modeling company values.
  • Assist in recruiting, training, and developing Brand Ambassadors to maintain high standards of performance and teamwork.
  • Promote an environment that fosters trust, teamwork, open communication and an orientation toward getting things done.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to address performance concerns and expectations, ensuring that feedback is documented appropriately.
Store Operations
  • Act as the primary leader in the Store Manager's absence, ensuring seamless operations and decision-making continuity.
  • Improve profitability by working with the Store Manager to manage controllable expenses such as payroll, supplies and shrinkage.
  • Maintain a high level of visual merchandising and housekeeping standards as directed by the company.
  • Perform daily paperwork reconciliation and other operational tasks.
  • Protect store assets and inventory. Reconcile inventory to identify and reduce shrinkage.
  • Communicate and implement Company policies, procedures and initiatives with Brand Ambassadors in a timely and effective manner.
  • Any and all other functions, duties, or projects as assigned.
Requirements:
  • Preferred two years experience in leadership experience in a retail environment or similar.
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate, and retain a team of full-time and part-time employees with varying schedules and availability,
  • Experience fostering team engagement and creating a positive team environment.
  • Experience in driving sales and improving customer satisfaction through personalized service and product knowledge.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs, manage competing priorities, and handle operational challenges effectively
  • Understanding of specialty retail, customer service, visual merchandising, and store operations.
  • Knowledge of basic retail math and cash management techniques.
  • Strong leadership, critical thinking, and problem solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to travel to the corporate office and other store locations when needed.
  • Proficient with standard office and retail environment equipment (phones, POS, alarm systems etc).
  • Intermediate knowledge of Google Suite (including Google Drive, Docs, Slides, Sheets, Meet), as well as Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, reach overhead, lift up to 50 lbs., and be able to climb a ladder/stepstool.

It is important to note that our salary ranges are based on paying competitively for our size, industry, and the market and are one part of the total rewards that we provide. Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, scope of the role, and internal peer benchmarking.
