- Engage with product, sales, investments, corporate strategy and actuarial departments to develop assumptions/inputs, prepare financial projections/models, and present results to functional leadership and/or corporate committees including SLT.
- Lead strategic modeling, scenario planning, and analysis to support data-driven decisions, and bring new approaches or techniques to solve problems that have a broad impact on the business.
- Provide technical guidance for and manage a team of actuaries and/or non-actuaries involved in activities such as corporate planning, forecasting and variance analysis for the enterprise.
- Drives accountability by setting, monitoring and reporting targets/outcomes related to key performance indicators, which may include financial, operational, or other metrics aligned with the company’s financial and strategic goals.
- Provide leadership and direction across the Corporate Finance department.
- Build and mentor a high-performing team focused on transformation and business planning.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability.
- Provide leadership and guidance to teams to ensure timely and successful completion of responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science or a related field or equivalent education and experience.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries compliant on continuing professional development, and with appropriate experience to issue necessary Statements of Actuarial Opinion.
- Twelve or more years of significant Actuarial experience.
- Recognized thought leader in one or more actuarial subjects.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills with emphasis on communicating diverse and complex actuarial topics to a wide variety of internal stakeholders.
- Ability to build rapport and influence decisions at all levels of management.
- Superior intellectual agility, analytical and problem-solving abilities and well-developed negotiating skills.
- Ability to lead large interdepartmental projects
- Ability to manage a team of actuaries and non-actuaries.
- Extensive knowledge of company, industry and regulatory practices and procedures.
