- Manage project execution through MTI’s Up Front Planning Process, cross functional reporting, capacity planning and tracking of progress.
- Guide, collaborate and influence operational leaders and process owners to ensure adherence to documented and agreed upon operational processes.
- Manage project scope changes and control project deliverables through machine start-up.
- Ensure development of Project Engineering Group through careful performance development plan design and support focusing on quality, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Ensure timely delivery of projects through time sheet, vacation approval and budget creation and management.
- Provide technical engineering leadership and support as required.
- Facilitate weekly cross functional meetings and discussions to ensure adherence to the project plan and to support the creation of planning adjustments as required so that the project remains on track.
- Prioritize and re-prioritize Department activities as needed.
- Facilitate Problem solving activities within the department as well as throughout the operations team providing and implementing continuous improvement suggestions.
- Support internal customers and suppliers including concept, design, purchasing, contract welding, and service.
- Monitor department and company adherence to their respective business processes.
- Support external customers by meeting or exceeding their expectations.
- Manage internal customers and suppliers for effective Project Management communication and follow up from Project Managers.
- Organize and maintain a weekly project review to ensure the review of each project and the communication of project status to the rest of the organization.
- Organize and maintain a weekly departmental meeting for team building, consistent communication, subordinate feedback, and group training.
- Ensure that decision making supports company strategy and goals.
- Provide and manage resource planning with adequate and timely information for use by the rest of the organization.
- Reduce costs via standardization, design re-use, material optimization, and improved project engineering process efficiency.
- Monitor the organization for use and adherence to the Quality Manual.
- Demonstrated flexibility to ensure effective work across the global organization.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate across the global organization.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects at one time.
- Experience with mentoring, coaching and/or training.
- Ability to multi-task, manage time and prioritize.
- Ability to make important decisions for the company.
- Experience/exposure in a Manufacturing Environment.
- Proficiency in
- Experience in design, build, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), debugging, commissioning and start up activities of equipment.
- Experience in use of a business system, Made-2-Manage (M2M) preferred.
- Must conduct oneself with the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
- Seven (7) – ten (10) years’ experience in a managerial role and experience in project and/or department management
- At least five (5) years’ experience in project management; small to large ($1M -$55M project cost)
- Lean certification and/or Six Sigma Black Belt certification and experience
- At least three (3) years’ plant management experience
