This role connects students with appropriate academic and library resources, offers basic technology troubleshooting, and promotes available support services to enhance student learning and success.The Student Support Coordinator contributes to team initiatives by participating in planning meetings, supporting projects, and sharing ideas to improve student support strategies. Additionally, this role helps coordinate and supervise student workers, including recruiting, hiring, training, and overseeing daily tasks to ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery. Working closely with the Librarian and Welcome Center staff, this role also provides daily support to students using the campus libraries, including location and checkout of materials, intercampus loan requests, and use of electronic resources such as scholarly databases and communicates schedule changes, and tutor schedules.The Student Support Assistant is a part-time, onsite position scheduled for 20 hours per week over 52 weeks per year. The role is typically 5 hours per day, Monday through Thursday, with flexibility between 8:00am – 4:30pm, based on operational needs, a set schedule will be established.Madison College believes every team member brings unique perspectives and experiences that enhance our ability to understand and engage with the communities we serve, address challenges, and develop innovative solutions.   • Supports daily operations of an academic support center by managing the front desk, maintaining check-in software and kiosks and guiding students to appropriate services to ensure efficient and welcoming service delivery.
  • Contributes to team planning and decision-making by participating in regular meetings, supporting project-based work and offering informed input to improve student support strategies.
  • Initiates technical support requests for computers and printers in the unit as needed to ensure continuous access to learning technology for students.
  • Assists students with online tools and resources, and to provide referrals to appropriate services and encourage academic independence.
  • Provide support to libraries by assisting students as needed to support academic success.
  • Assists in the coordination and supervision of student workers/casuals by supporting their recruiting, hiring, training and day-to-day tasks to maintain consistent and high-quality service.
  • Performs other related duties within the scope of the position as required for the efficient operation of the division and to support institutional objectives.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Knowledge of student support services, academic resources and library services.
  • Knowledge of check-in systems, scheduling platforms and basic technology troubleshooting practices.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision.
  • Ability to provide customer service and resolve concerns.
  • Ability to manage multiple processes, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Skill in engaging positively with all populations and communities, contributing to a safe and inclusive learning and work environment.

Minimum Requirements:
  • High School/GED or equivalent additional work experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant working experience
